Hey folks! I know I’ve been absent for awhile (and right after my previous post about keeping a regular blogging schedule! I know I’m a terrible person!) I would come up with an awesome excuse, such as I’m a super villain, I’m coming up with a new site design, I married the Pope. But the truth of the matter is I’ve just been super busy. Between a new roommate (who actually pays rent instead of bitching about how much $150ish bucks a month for half the household utilities cost), an upgrade in pay at work, and finally having my Condo signed over and into my name! (Legally I now own this place! Yeyyy!) I have had literally TONS of things going on!
Several things in the category of super-happy-fun-time have been going on recently: I recently got a Genius G-Pen F610 6″x10″ Graphics Tablet (which I believe is the equivalent of the Kindle Fire to the touch pad market) that you can expect me to drop a review on in the near future, as well as a new Rothco M-51 Engineer’s bag, which is AWESOME. I may never need another bag again! I also may have purchased Skyrim… but you know… it isn’t like it is eating up all of my spare time… *achem*
Truthfully I have several posts in mind, I just haven’t gotten around to writing them all out yet, and in the case of the tablet I want to try a video-based review, so everyone can laugh themselves silly at me getting used to my swanky new hardware. The Rothco bag I think also warrants a review, especially since they are on sell for around $40 compared to the original $80 you would have to pay at an army surplus store.
There are also several free resource sites that I have to organize and write content for, I would just post links, but that feels like cheating. This is a blog after all, and I enjoy forcing everyone to read my fluff filler text writing interesting and helpful asides on different things. I also have two new spotlight posts to write up, both are based on Web Comics (and one Author is a very nice woman who I actually interviewed in person!!)
I would say that I am planning on cranking out some content this weekend, but even with the additional two days off of work, I have a lot of stuff to do. I’m cooking for Thanksgiving this year, and most importantly after 4 years of courtship Will’s parents are going to be meeting my family face-to-face on the 24th. I would be nervous if not for the fact that my mom is so amazing and laid back! I know she and Mrs. Penny (Will’s stepmother) will be getting along famously!
Will and I have some painting to do around the house (now that I own it and can do whatever I want with the decorating). And as of Sunday last week we finished the Winter 2011 Cleaning Initiative, which ended with the two of us collectively donating 5 bags of clothes, old toys, and some old furniture to Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity. What stuff wasn’t donateable, we tossed into the garbage (another 4 bags of stuff!) and proceeded to pull everything out of every closet and hidey-hole and organize absolutely everything that we have. We re-organized the bedroom, living-room, and kitchen, into a design that allowed for the most open space humanly possible, and I have to admit, ever since we finished my house has felt so serene. Even with our two cats and lovable dog we aren’t wanting for space.
That being said, I’ll write for you all again soon, and I promise interesting content to tickle your neurobits!
